I can't help wondering if "lowering their standards" enough to take them would really have hurt the chapter the way I'm sure the exclusion from all sororities is hurting the girls; it's hard to believe that they're such losers or troublemakers that they couldn't find a niche in a 273-member chapter. From everything I hear, it sounds like that's not an easy campus to be bidless at.

I have to say I totally understand this viewpoint...When I rushed at Ole Miss in 2001 a very good friend of mine did not get a bid. She is a wonderful person and would have been a great sister. However what hurt her was that she did not have recs for all the sororities and her GPA was just above a 2.5 (the minimum).
