In a murder investigation? We're not talking about a chapter incident here, but rather three men (no matter what organization they belong to) who may by suspected of killing someone -- perhaps deliberately. I think this deserves a little more individual attention.
Maybe I'm off base, but I see a big difference here.

You are off base. The school isn't a court of law and they don't need to wait for a trial to take action. Your national HQ doesn't wait until after a trial to take action against a chapter that is suspected of hazing or alcohol violations.
If one of your chapters was suspected of beating someone to death and blood was found in their house would your HQ wait until after a trial to take action?
