Andi, just how bad is it to go to a Hilary Duff show? I refuse to say concert, because I believe that using the word "concert" indicates that there is some type of live singing involved

I love my kids...I just took them both to see Cheap Trick a week ago and they loved it. It was the 2nd concert for both--12 year old has seen CT twice now, and the 14 year old also saw Bon Jovi back in 2002.

Heh. It really wasn't too bad. pretty much 1/2 of all 1st graders in Lubbock were there, which I expected, but there were lots of highschool age girls there too....saw a few that had dragged boyfriends, which was funny.

The worst part for me was her sister, Hayley, as the opening act (she is even less original than her younger sister).

Hilary's band is actually pretty decent, music wise (you gotta wonder who they pissed off the get stuck w/this gig, though...on the other hand, I guess it's a paycheck), and although she's not the greatest singer, she actually did sing the whole thing (not lip synched) b/c she did have some pitchy moments. I was expecting some kind of show where there were dancers, etc., but she pretty much just gets up there and does the songs from her album (an upcoming new album) w/a band & 2 backup singers. (There is the required video screen in the background showing clips from a few of her videos interspersed w/live shots).

This was my DD's first concert...she enjoyed it, but about 2 songs b/f the end, she sat down & started to doze. I don't know how bc/ it was freaking loud (not just the music but screaming elementary school girls everywhere? Sheesh.)

I just saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra on Saturday night, and I think it was one of the best shows I've been to, hands down. It doesn't hurt that the way hot bass player was winking at me all night But the show was incredible, and I recommend it to everyone.
