I have no idea about the quote, and am currently in the process of over analyzing the excerpt. Be back later when I can spout out some crazy theory.

On mugglenet, there is a phat spoiler on the GOF movie. Nothing can be comfirmed but it lists what's in, what's out, what's cut in half, etc.

If you are interested, check it out.

So I read the spoiler and if it's true, it's not something I'm really happy about. They are cutting so much. I understand they have time constraints, but still...

I'd say take it for what it's worth. It's going to be a 2 hour plus movie whether they like it or not. I think some of the things that are really important (the end, the 3 tasks, etc) will be in it to their full effect... but I am a little disappointed about the beginning... and the Yule ball... and some of the smaller storylines.

But it sounds like this movie may stand better on it's own than HP3 did.

There's a post back there by MysticCat, (but I was too lazy to find it and quote it ) about Harry Potter and Religion.

I just finished reading a book called "God, The Devil and Harry Potter" by John Killinger. He is a Christian minister who praises the books. His books tells of parallels between Jesus and Harry Potter and also how the book is filled with Christian themes.
He suggest that every Christian should read the books before condeming them.

It's a very interesting read, even for the non-Christian.

Ok, apparently there are no links available for news stories on my local CBS affiliate here. I saw on the news a story about a golden retriever (I think) that was born with only it's hind 2 legs. It was given only a short time to live but it somehow taught itself to walk as a bi-ped. It's quite an amazing story.

Point?

Apparently the producers of the Harry Potter Movies have contacted the owner and want to use the dog in the movies. My questions is where???? Unless they put out a fifth movie and she is a disabled krup, I don't see how it would fit in.

Any ideas?

I'm so tired of all the relationship speculation. Is it Ron/Hermione or Harry/Hermione? sheesh.

I LOVE Harry Potter and my favorite book is Goblet of Fire.

catching up on all the new posts.

the HBP can't be crookshanks b/c he was introducecd in POA and isnt the rumor that the heavy clue is in CoS?

When I read it.....it reminded me of a Hagrid like character, but not in a half-giant like way.....just an overall feeling of Hagrid-nish......

It would be very cool if this person describe is related to a Gryffindor....

my wild spec has been (and I dont think I've posted it here) would be that (heavens above forbid please) that Dobby would be the HBP.......

I'm officially going through withdrawals.

Not exactly. JKR has said that she started out putting some of the story line that will be in Book 6 in CoS, but decided that it didn't fit and that all traces of that story line were removed.

The big clue isn't necessarily supposed to be the introduction of the person that we learn is the HBP. Rather, she has said that Harry learned something for the first time in CoS that is a clue as to what will happen in 6 and 7.

Has anyone heard anything new about when HBP is coming out?

Oh where's ms_gwen... So I read Trouble in Paradise by AngieJ and loved it. Now I am coming to the 11th chapter of Paradise Lost and realized she didn't finish it. And it's been over a year. I remember your recommendation of that fan fic author so I was wondering if you know anything about her finishing it. (Cuz I am HOOKED!)

JKR is still writing it and hasn't predicted when she will be through or when it will be published.

hijack

Just to let ya'll know, my daughter saw this thread over my shoulder and one day and now she's checking it regularly..lol. My son came running into the living room saying "Momma, Cicci is on Greekchat!". She was checking the Harry Potter thread and then checking out all the websites you all have referred to.

More subliminals to encourage her to go Greek!

LOL... that's a good idea. I should let some of the girls on the Claymate board know about this thread. (There are a ton of HP fans over there...)

I usually browse the editorials in mugglenet, but since I had the internet off/on during August I fell behind. I'm finally catching up with everything. My point (and I do have one):

I FEEL LIKE SUCH AN IDIOT!!!!! Please tell me that no one else thought to question why Salazar Slytherin would put the COS in a bathroom with INDOOR plumbing when the school was formed over 1,000 years ago...waaaaaay before indoor plumbing?? Here is the link for those who wish to read it: A Plot Hole Big Enough to Drive a Ford Anglia Through

Also chideltjen mentioned something about a 2 legged dog. Mugglenet is now reporting the same thing, main page at mugglenet.com

I'm off to catch up on more editorials.

PS- Mugglenet won the site of the month award from jkrowling.com...and she gave them very high praise.
