So is this the surprise the meeting leader was talking about? Sounds interesting! They have a bit about it on their website.

On another note...I went to the gym yesterday!!!!! Yay me! I finally got my lazy ass up and out the door to do a workout. I feel so good today. A little tired, but really it's nothing. I did 40 minutes of cardio and then I did weights. I feel so much better. I really don't like the gym, but I'm going to make sure I go. I was reading on the WW website that trainers say it can take up to 4 months to get into "the swing of things" so I'm going to go 2-3 times a week for 4 months. If I still hate the gym after that, I only have to more moths on my membership and I won't renew it for the next year. If I lfind I start to really like it, I'll finish out my membership and then move on to a cheaper gym, probably at school.

I am so proud of myself for finally going.

Someone will have to post about the new program. I don't go to meetings but I would be very curious to find out about it.

One of my neighboring schools is starting up a class next week. They meet right after school and it's not too far. I think I will start up again. There's no excuse, really, since it's so convenient to both work and home.

Does anyone have a points calculator with them right now?

I need to know how many points a power bar is.

If you have one here are the numbers

222 Calories
3g of fat
3g of fiber

Thanks

I just got back from learning about the Core Plan. I am definitely going to do this because it goes along well with my lifestyle.

I hit goal 2 weeks ago but I am at the high end of my healthy weight and I still want to lose more. I plan to lose around 5-10 more pounds, tone up and see how I do.

So right now I am technically on maintenance while still losing. Anyone else in this boat?

adpialumcsuc,

You can eat until satisfaction from food/groups without tracking. This is mostly whole foods. The new "Getting Started" book will tell you the foods included in the "Core Plan". I believe ETools will tell you as well. It seems that several sites have been posting the food list and are forced to take the lists down since WW has copyrighted the information :-(.

Vegetables/Fruits

Lean Meats/Beans/Soy-Certain cuts of meat only, the "Getting Started" book tells more info.

Dairy- Fat Free Milk, Fat Free yogurt

Whole grains-brown rice, whole wheat pasta, other whole grain foods

You don't count points except for a weekly allowance of 35 flex points to be used on foods not on the core list.

I hope this offers some insight.

So I went to my meeting on saturday. I only lost 1.6 pounds. I'm a little frustrated. I was sticking to my points target, I ACTUALLY went to the gym and I ONLY lost 1. 6 pounds
I know, it's better than nothing. But I lost more weight when I wasn't working out. I feel like I did all that work for nothing.

They us talked about the Core Plan. I think for now I'm going to stick with the Flex Plan. I think that works better for me. The Core Plan I might do later when I've lost my weight. Do it when I'm in the maintainence phase.

If you went to the gym, you may have not lost as much because while you lost fat, you gained muscle. Remember - the more muscle you have the more calorie you burn - so while it may cause you to lose slower early on - it'll help you in the long run!

Lady Pi Phi,
I think 1.6 is an awesome loss!! I know it doesn't seem like a whole lot but that is more than what I normally lose! Going to the gym is definitely going to help you lose fat and inches! Good move.

1.6 pounds is great!!! That is a real loss. Anything more than that you will gain back quickly. Think of it this way: 1.6 pounds/ week for 4 months (4 months at the gym)= 25 pounds! And you will have more muscle tone. Keep it up.

I started my diet again... I lost 7 pounds back in May/June and want to lose another 7-10. I lost 1 pound this week. I want to fit into these jeans I bought that were a tad small. I have 30 days to return them, so if I don't lose 4 more pounds in that time, back to Macy's they go.
