TStevens,

there is a misconception about pre built housing.

What people dont know, is that if you are talking about Modular House as opposed to Built from stick up construction it can be great.

There are some sites that one can check as I did a while back and was surprised by some of the builds that were built this way.

Basically, a house is designed, built in a big building using jigs that were set up for that specific design. Cutting is more precise, wiring, interior, plumbing, cabinents are all in place. They are transported and lifted in place on site.

A two story house can be in place in 1-2 days and then finishers come in and fine tune.

Myslf and a few of our Alums looked at this way to do it but most were against it because they did not know that much about it.

Actually, it is built a heck of a lot better with a better grade of materials.

It is not two trailer halfs you see going down the road for a double wide!

Built to over specs and better materials. Well, alot will go into the planning!
