How is that stereotypical? For the past 6 years I have interned for a major corporation, I know plenty of people who work here that graduated with degrees in different areas, but they got additional training for their positions (but their degrees were also somewhat related to the positions they are in). I can't apply for a job as a developer if I don't have the right skill set. College is meant to prepare you by all means. As a sport science major I am not qualified to be a data analyst or developer for a mortgage company. With additional training/schooling I could be, but the chances of me getting hired with no related major are slim to none. Thats fact, not stereotypical. I know this because I have been in the corporate world, I know what its like.

I also didn't mean that you were a music major, I was using that as an example. I am sorry if you took it as an insult. I wasn't trying to be rude.
