The different for the Heathens From Texas, is:

American Whisk"e"y is spelled with The "E"!

It is aged with and cooked with Charcoal.

Scothish Whisky (No "E"), is heated and cooked over peat dug up and cut from the Scotish Highland Peat Bogs. Ergo, the smokey taste.
