Thumbs down all nighters

I think i have a serious problem with procrastination. It's a quarter to 12 and i'm still working on a paper that's due for 1 tommorrow and haven't started studying for a midterm that i have at 5:30. If i can get by tommorrow i'll be in the clear for a couple days.
Anyone else have problems putting schoolwork off to the last minute? I've done this so many times it's starting to become natural.

OK, uhhh... part of your problem might be that you are posting on Greekchat when you have a paper due at 1 tomorrow. Hope you get everything done on time! And buy a planner - you'll manage your time better!

Honey--I am the queen of procrastination.

I agree with Allie, buying a planner really does help. It helped out a LOT last semester that each page was used up and I had to buy more refills.

Sometimes it just comes naturally for some people. A lot of people I know are famous for putting things off at the last minute, and like the stress, but in the end everything gets done. I'm often like that!

But still, there are things that I know will take me more than a few hours to finish, so I try and pace myself and figure out how much I can do within a set period of time.

I don't know if it's a problem of time management as it is sticking to the task at hand. When i write essays I give myself a time deadline when I should get them done but i can't seem to focus when i start my essay...I always make up some excuse to not do the work.

I'm not sure how much a reader would help me.
Actually I shouldn't say that, had I done the readings for this exam I would just have to go over the highlights tommorrow and not read all the pages tommorrow and hope that it sticks.
But anyways, thanks for your advice

I usually leave everything until the last minute...I work much better under pressure. All of my friends will tell you that it is true. My latest little stunt, which I don't know how I pulled it off, was not going to class for three months and then showing up for the final. I ended up getting a B in the class. I urge all of you NOT to try this!!

That's terrible I can't imagine not going to class for the whole semester and still pass the class.

Well I finished the essay at about 11:30, dropped it off and skipped both classes to study for my exam at 5:30. It would have went alright had i done the required reading in the right textbook. I didn't even realize until 5:15 that I skimmed over 12 chapters in the wrong book. So you can probably imagine that I was one of the first ones outta there.

I can completely see where you are coming from! I am such a procrastinater. I figure though that I've made it through 3 1/2 years of college and it hasn't hurt my grades, so I'm sure I'll continue it all the way through.
