I've lived in 3 different places and will talk about each locations particular unique cuisines.

1) New York City: bagels, pizza, Jamaican food, Chinese food, Jewish cooking

2) Rhode Island: the best grinders and vegetarian dishes

3) Maryland: NOTHING! I HATE THIS STATE!!! OK, I'm calm! But, if I had to pick the best known: CRABS!!! MARYLAND HAS CRABS!! Alright, I'm fine ...
