Something else to add...if you're renting the house from a landlord, and he/she hasn't done work on the house in eons, ask them for the paint. Tell them you're willing to do the work, but that as it is their property, they should buy the paint. Landlords do have the responsibility of the upkeep of their properties after all And if you'd move out, they'd paint it for the next tenant!
