Yes, I'm quoting my own post.

Went back and checked -- when Harry says "You sent the howler. It was your voice," Dumbledore answers "I thought she might need a little reminder." That sounds to me like an acknowledgment that he did send the howler, but admittedly he doesn't actually say so.

Has everyone seen the new FAQ answers up on jkrowling.com?

When would we like to discuss?

JKR said she wouldn't saddle her child with the name of Harry after she had her son a few years ago (his name is David), and I don't think she would name it after any of the other characters, either. It would be a little weird, IMO.

It's been confirmed; Ralph Fiennes is going to be playing Voldemort in GoF. They're going to have to put a looot of makeup on him; he looks nothing like how I picture Voldie.

As for JKR's FAQ poll, the Dumbledore howler question is in the lead by quite a bit (58%).

Also in the FAQ (now that we've all had plenty of time to look for ourselves!), we find out that Arthur will not be the new MoM (which I am very disappointed about ), that Tom Riddle is not the HBP, and that Harry discovered something in CoS that forshadows something related to the HBP, but does not relate to the basilisk or the diary.

So, what are Harry's major discoveries in CoS?

1. House elves and their duties
2. Various dark arts things in Knocturn Alley (and Hagrid visiting there)
3. He is a Parselmouth
4. Hagrid was in Azkaban
5. Aragog

Anything else? Any ideas about how these relate to the HBP? (I haven't read CoS in awhile.)

True... but he's still pretty hot. I was looking at pictures yesterday on Yahoo. There was one... I don't know if it was the lighting or the pose, but he did look... well, evil. Not snake like of course... just evil.

Miranda Richardson is also playing Rita. What other movies was she it? I saw a small list and it included The Hours but I know she's been in others.

And then Brenden Gleeson is playing Mad Eye. Now, if you wanna talk about make up... this guy will need it. He's pretty young looking (unless they are going to make him double the part of Mad Eye and Barty.)

This, is making think more and more that Hagrid is the half blood prince. Well we find out in book 4 that he is half giant half wizard. JKR also said that she took out a ton of stuff out of book2 because it would give too much away. It makes me think that she's split it up in books 3, and 5 and is giving us the rest in book 6. That's why I think it's Hagrid.

I actually have to agree with some of the speculation that Hagrid is the half-blood prince. After all half-blood doesn't have to refer to the "wizard" heritage, but could in fact refer to half-human... so Hagrid is the Prince of Giants?

Could be...after all, Dumbledore sent him out to gather the giants' support. His mom could be the queen giantess. Very plausable.

A friend sent me this link: Harry Potter and the Inklings: The Christian Meaning of The Chamber of Secrets.

I should note in advance that this is an essay by John Granger, who wrote Looking for God in Harry Potter and The Hidden Key to Harry Potter. As the name of the essay suggests, Granger argues extensively that Rowling is following in footsteps of earlier Christian fiction writers, notably CS Lewis. (For those who don't know, "The Inklings" was the name of a group of Oxford writers, including Lewis and Tolkien, who would meet regularly at a pub to discuss what they were writing.) Just thought I should give that heads up so readers have an idea what to expect.

Really worth a read when you have some time; it's got a lot of food for thought. (But it's a long essay.) The analysis of Chamber of Secrets, the book that supposedly has clues to the half-bllod prince and the ultimate ending in it, is particularly interesting.

As a bonus, the essay contains Granger's guess as to the person on whom Guilderoy Lockhart was modeled. (Rowling has said that Lockhart is the one character based on someone she knew/had met.)

FWIW.

I've heard that Lockhart is modeled after JKR's ex-husband.
