From what I've observed via the interaction on this thread, I think the problem is that you're not really saying, "hey, let's all try to be civil and adults". You are saying, "hey, specific members of the H&A, let's all try to be civil and adults" and some people have issues with being connected to spiteful or mean activity in which they have not personally participated. Again, just an observation. I do think that your general message is being heard, loud and clear.
