Percussionist McKinley Williams of Frankie Beverly and Maze remains in intensive care following a heart attack he suffered while on stage at the Essence Music Festival. McKinley was performing with the group when he fell over. Frankie was visibly upset and after a long wait resumed with the show. Frankie has been on a non-stop tour. He’s scheduled to be in Atlantic City on Friday the 16th. Frankie and McKinley have worked together for years and Frankie has taken it very hard. The band is asking that you keep McKinley in your prayers. He is going to be temporarily replaced in the band.

This isn't fully true. He did not have a heart attack. According to my chapter member's mother (who works at the hospital), Mr. Williams passed out @ Essence due to problems with gall stones. He was placed in an "intensive care unit" if you will, so that he (Mr. Williams and Frankie) could have privacy. Frankie stayed in N.O. with him days after. Before we left for Nashville, she did not get a chance to get an update on his condition. (FYI)
