In 1895, the Chi Omega founders and their 10 initiates were a significant force among the women students at the University of Arkansas -- the entire student body the year Chi Omega was founded was ________. (*Pick a number between 1 and 10,000)
Looks like KellyB is our winner! (She was closest without going over -- just like on "The Price is Right!")

The correct answer is 193.

Goodness, I don't know what to say. First of all I want to thank Hootie for creating this thread. Without it this would never have been possible. I also want to thank NutBrn for all the trivia she posts...

A Political Question...

Now that it's "that time of year" maybe it would be fun to name as many Chi Omegas as you can who are/were involved in politics. Who wants to start?

Pat Schroeder, for sure! In a book I read recently, she was repeatedly mentioned as a good defender of women's rights.

Oh yes, let's add Pat Shroeder to the list. For those of you who don't know... Pat Schroeder was a Democratic member of Congress for twelve terms, representing a suburban Denver district. She is now the president of the American Booksellers Association, and the author of a book, 24 Years of Housework . . . and the Place is Still a Mess (Andrews McMeel, 1998). In Congress, Schroeder was known for her populist brand of feminism and her wicked wit. She coined the phrase "Teflon president" for Ronald Reagan. Pat also had an unsuccessful run for the Democratic nomination for President.

Pat was a Chi Omega from Pi Beta Chapter (Univ. of Minnesota) and attended our National Convention in 1992 to receive the Woman of Achievement award.
