Hi! I would still try to obtain your MSW, I think it is a better degree to have then counseling. Feel free to PM me and I can elaborate more on this. Also, another idea since there is only one SW school in your state, look into schools that may offer a program where you do your internship in your area for main schol year and attend classes on their campus in the summertime (if you can swing this option). The school I attended has this program (it's called the summer block program). The school I attended for my MSW is Yeshiva University in Manhattan.
