"Sporty" shoes - what's in?
Ok, I went into a "preppy" phase in late 2001, and have not owned any tennis/sporty shoes since then. So, I'm out of the loop. I going to purchase some sporty shoes this week. I'm a former tennis shoe snob, there's some residual TS snobiness in me, please don't recommend payless. What brands, styles, or colors are "younger" people wearing these days? What are you wearing now? Pictures?

New Balance is a big one. Nike is still in (but still the most expensive). Really, as far as I've seen, there haven't been any huge changes in athletic shoes since '01.

For the most part I wear NBs or Nikes for exercise, except for a long run, then I wear my Sauconys. For "fashion" sport shoes, I wear either pink Diesels or Puma clogs.

Are you looking for something to actually work out in or just to say hey I'm cool, bitch fuck me? For the latter I prefer the Adidas Y-3 line or the Chiles, for the former Nike shox are hot.

First of all, nowadays people called "running shoes" instead of "tennis shoes". Tennis shoes is so 1980-ish.
I agree with everyone else, depends on what situation and what function you are going to wear them. For real running, I suggest New Balance, like series 805 or 806. For just to wear around, while still being comfy, I'd prefer Asics: Kayano X series or Nimbus 4. A little bit flashy, Nike Shox of any kind.
Good luck!

D, I assume your asking for stylish, kickin' it shoes as opposed to shoes for working out or running? I'll find some pictures for you.

I have these in gray with blue, but the black and pink ones are awesome.
Puma has some cute stuff, too.
I might be the only one who would wear something like this, but I think they're the shit.

They're still "gym shoes" to me.
New Balance is huge. When I was at IU it seemed like every other person had them.

Considering a million and one people wear those, I doubt you're the only one.
My vote goes to: http://www.adidas.com/us/Framed/y-3.html
Not everyone has them, they're hot, and you'll be screaming "bitch fuck me" in Japanese if you really think about it.

I like Adidas, but I got a rash the last time I wore them.

I have those Pumas above in red. I love them and got them for cheap at Nordstrom Rack.
I do want a pair of Roos. I don't know where to find them though. Thoughts?
