i personally think the 6 week nm period is better because when i was a new member, i felt excluded a lot of the time from certain things. it could have been because my pledge class consisted of me and 2 other girls, but i really wanted to be part of the chapter and do everything with them as soon as i could. i do understand the point of having time to learn everything about the chapter, but i feel like that can be done in 6 weeks.
