Why was Founders Hall never built on the campus of the University of Arkansas?

a.) Due to the cost it was never built. Instead, the funds accumulated were used to help build the Greek Theater in 1930.

b.) The University did not approve of the plans & would not sell the necessary land.

c.) After World War I began, supplies were scarce.

d.) The Governor of Arkansas had a disagreement with Dr. Richardson, so the plans were called off.

I'd like to guess B

And I'd also like to guess that since founder's hall could not be built, we "donated" the greek theatre.

Am I anywhere near right?

OL, you are close...the answer is A

Founders' Hall was not built, due to the cost. The funds accumulated were put toward building the Greek Theater on the Univ. of Arkansas campus in 1930.

Notice the similarity of the architectural rendering of Founders' Hall and our current Executive HQ in Memphis... The picture of Founders' Hall was not found until AFTER we moved into the new HQ in 1994! All were stunned by the similarity of the architecture.

Hi all!
Wow. This is my first ever post! Okay, I just wanted to respond to the convo going on earlier in this thread about letters.
I was just pledged this (Spring 05) semester (NU THETA) and we were given Bid Day shirts with letters on them. This is the only letter item we were allowed to own (other than new member pin). We were allowed to borrow letters from other Chi-O's. The reason we were not allowed to own them was out of respect for our future BIGs because you never know what they want to buy you or what they have already purchased....After BIG LITTLE we were allowed to buy our own stuff.

c.) Summer issue of 1985
d.) Fall issue of 2000

I'll say c.) One. It's located on the first floor because men are not allowed upstairs. OK, I am in a silly mood.
