I really don't think it's a bad thing to be skeptical of marriage -- that's probably a good thing, since my guy is not religious and his parents are divorced.

This study, like most I've read about lately, seems to confuse correlation with causation. I don't think it's safe to assert that a man who is from a religious background and whose parents are still married is necessarily a better spouse or more likely to be happily married -- he's just more likely to be traditional and do what he feels is expected of him. I can't say I'd find that to be a positive attribute, but that's just my preference.

They do touch on the fact that men marry when it's "time" and I think that actually is very true. A guy can be dating a woman who is absolutely wonderful and just about perfect, but if he doesn't feel that it's time to get married, it's not going to happen. I wish more women understood that -- because a lot of the time it isn't actually about the woman -- it's just not the right time.
