gpa's different today

I recall the Betas had won the top grade slot about 78 of the
last 80 years. TKE and AKL the only ones to slip in...
But, in the 50s, the top GPA (Betas) was about 2.6, and the all
mens' average about 2.4, gdi's about 2.2...top sorority was likely
pi phi, about 2.7...what has happened in these intervening years?
