The cast of Taxi was on the Today show last week. They said when Andy said if he was a boy, he'd be back in 10 years. If he was a man, he'd be back in 20. And so they made comment that they planned to see him on Sunday, the 20th anniversary of his death.

if this is true, he is such a jerk!! to pretend to die of cancer (i am pretty sure that's what he died of) would be so obnoxious. and i would think a lot of people would feel the same way.

If he is alive, I hope he never works again (If he chooses to) or has guest appearances. That's messed up to fake cancer. I can't imagine many people being amused by this since *so* many people have died of cancer and to have it used as a joke...grr...Sorry if I'm taking this too seriously, but I lost my grandfather to lung cancer last fall and andy kaufman might have faked lung cancer..so yeah...not happy.

Bear in mind that that link to Yahoo news is to a press release, not an independent news story. Press releases are often the comfortable home of "creative" facts, to say the least.
And come on, blogspot?

It's fake. The link is to promote a "performance art" show that his friends (Bob Zmuda etc) are putting on.
Andy Kaufman made a whole career out of trying to make people think he was a jerk, and there's nothing he'd enjoy more than hearing that the prospect of him faking cancer & faking his death pissed someone off.
