Personally, I feel that if the BGLOs would go back and reevaluate the state of their organizations since the adoption of the MIP, they'd see that things have only gotten worse instead of better. Most of the major lawsuits and incidents have happened post 1990, not before. It seems that when folks were denied the "pledging" experience, they decided that they would take matters into their own hands. Instead of taking more time to create a process that would educate and build leadership and business skills, they put in place a "bandaid" so to speak. Everyone knows you can't put a bandage on a wound that needs stitches. I don't think that either process is better or worse, but I do believe it is the responsibility of our "seasoned" members to teach the younger members history and how to conduct themselves. And it is the responsibility of younger(and older) members to seek knowledge continuously, for none of us can ever know everything there is to know.
