The drunk driver that almost killed me a few years ago shattered his leg in the process. He had, like, $20, 000 worth of medical bills.
One day when he knew that I was sitting in the courtroom, he asked to say something to the court. The judge wanted to be amused, so he allowed it. The guy wanted to know when the county was going to be paying for his medical bills!!! Never mind that he left me with a total of $36,000 worth of bills medical and otherwise due to the mess he caused.
After that, nothing amazes me about people who commit crimes.
