Hey there.. I'm sure Greek life is different up here in Ottawa, Canada.. But on the three campuses here in Ottawa, there are several local sororities (at least three), and a national fraternity and a local fraternity. I'm a member of Xi Delta Theta, local at Carleton University. We are granted a lot of respect within the Greek Community. But I think regardless of if your international, national or local, you're always going to get some measure of grief or strife from everyone that isn't the same.. Internationals might think we're not a "real" sorority, might not see why we joiend locals.. But we look at it this way-- we make up our own rules, we decide what is important to us -- that sort of thing. I like being in a local sorority -- although there are advantages and disadvantages.
