Yup, we were talking about this in class last night. One of my classmates had this woman as an instructor. Nothing but good things I've heard about her. I didn't know the student. He was in a different dept. This story was on the front page of the Chronicle yesterday.
The school is shady about some stuff. For instance, While reading the article, I found out we’re now a university and not a college anymore. The writer kept referring to the school as “university”. I’m thinking “No, AAC--college” My teacher told me “Yeah, the school changed to uni status last week.” WTF?!? Whenever the school has news of any kind, they will send an email and letter. Not a word. I noticed the school busses the academy owns were painted over. They are standard school busses that were painted black with the school logo on both sides, the front and over the back doors, and Academy of Art College spelled out. The College was painted over and the busses and vans with just the letters AAC on them, those were painted completely over.
There's other stuff the school does that makes you wonder but on the flip side, the education I've received here is second to none. We have the best and brightest instructors who are working professionals. As much as the school charges, thats the least they can do. Our equiptment is top of the line and is updated every year. $550.00 per unit undergrad.
