History Major -

I just love learning about what happened in the past and how it influences the present.... as well as discovering little things that change your viewpoint on the present. For example the Bible... some may view it as a historical document others as a fanciful tale... but in either case certain practices mentioned in it are interpreted differently now... case in point the soldiers giving Jesus vinegar when he asked for water... most assume that the soldiers were just tormenting him further, and while this may be true, not for the reasons most think.... the Romans attributed restoritive powers to vinegar and wounded gladiators were given it to help them... so the soldiers may have been trying to prolong Jesus's agony or maybe some were sympathetic and trying to help.... it's learning things like this that i love....
