From what I've read, a lot of players got pissed because it got too close to reality. Is it true?

You're totally wrong.....they got pissed because it depicts them as a majority as a bunch of stripper loving, steroid using idiots who drug women, get them pregnant and all the other crap it did when in fact most of them are nothing like that at all. Its only a few who do stuff like that. Most of them have families, don't party and are good people. Believe me, I know. I mean think about it for a minute....you can't do all the stuff playmakers made out like they did and still have a successfull career in the league for very long. Its very hard to stay alive in the league. Those guys train 7-8 months out of a year trying to get their speed up, improve their game, beat out the starter for their position not to mention the fact that they get fined for just about ANYTHING they do ( on and off the field) that league officals look down on. The other 4-5 months out of the year they're in the middle of their season and they don't do anything at all during that time except practice and play on sundays. Playmakers was a bunch of Horsedump and it pissed off a lot of people, but not because it was too much to reality.
