I feel bad for you lost sister. We had a sister once kicked out because she was arrested for "breaking and entering" and "drunken disorderly conduct" at one of our sponosored events. A lot of people did not want to see her leave, but understood where our executive board was coming from. She still stayed in touch with many of the sisters.

Lost sister...are you part of a national or local GLO?

How can they?

I do not quite understand? How can they kick you out? I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta sororitty and once you become a member, you are a member for life. I have seen situations where certain sororities of the Divine Nine take in a person and may have regrets, but they do not have the right to try to kick the person out!!! They may stop associating with the person, but they remain sisters no matter what!!!! You are a member til death! I am sorry to hear about your situation.

Unhappy dear lost sister

I'm sad for you. How much time do you have left before you graduate? try to move beyond it and toward your future career.
good luck.

I can't tell you how true that story rings with me. Before I say any of this, know that this is NOT my whole chapter or what AGD is b/c AGD is AMAZING and I love it. Some people in my chapter, however, don't like me and are also doing everything they can to make certian I know that they don't want me here. Some are even trying to kick me out. The funny thing is, however, is that the same girls who are trying to kick me out are the same people that other sisters have a problem with because they can be very cliquey and very high school. I think the hardest thing that I read was that she was older and wasn't as close to the younger girls and they couldn't relate to her. I feel the same way. I am the 3rd oldest in the chapter and the other 2 above me I am not exactly the closest with. I was really close with a lot of girls that just went alumnae in the past couple of years. The combination of the negative feelings towards me and a feeling of a lack of connection are what really make me feel so unattached to the chapter. It doesn't help when I walk in the room and I feel half the room looking back at me, just waiting for the moment I leave the chapter. I have heard too, that the Advisors have way more of a say in things than I really like. Little squirrels (he he) have told me that some shady things might be going down when it comes to the actions and involvement of some of the advisors. This all really breaks my heart b/c I LOVE AGD with all my heart and it really hurts that the personal feelings and agendas of a few are hurting not just me, but the entire chapter and essentially all that Alpha Gamma Delta believes in and stands for . They won't get me down though. They my try to take my letters, they may try to break my love for AGD and my spirit, but they won't be able too!! Remember always that it doesn't matter if you you have the letters anymore, if you have the love for your org that true sisters or brothers of your org do..letters aren't super important. It's the love of those letters and what is in your heart that counts. They can't take that away from you. They can never take my love of AGD from me!!! 97 years have led us today and ld me to love AGD, you can't take that away!! It's like what the sister from ZPhiB said, you are a sister for life!! It is the beginning that never ends!!! It's deeper than a shirt and stronger than material stuff!!

Unhappy

lost sister, my heart goes out to you. I can only imagine how you must feel. I don't know how I would feel if I didn't have the luv and support of my bluetitul sorors and my org. Just hold your head up high because in the end it will be alright. Don't let them see you hurting.

Lostsister, I am not in any way saying that this is the reason that all this happened to you, but I see the same story repeating itself about older girls starting to feel like the odd person out. A really good way to keep this from happening is to cultivate friendships with the younger girls. You can't wait until your senior year to do it.....starting with the next year's pledge class to come through after yours, try and make some friendships. All of the girls from my clique were from the '91 or '92 pledge class....I was the only '90. A couple of the '91s were my age but they had waited until soph. year (very popular thing to do at KSU to try and get to know the girls in the chap. you want) You kind of end up with the reverse problem, in that for me it was hard to go alum and leave my friends behind after my 4th year, but I was getting married and since Brent had graduated I felt it was time for me to move on too.

Since I'm not in a position to provide details or examples, all I'll say is it may be rare but possible.
