I think it needs to be explained that the way in which you die from crucifixion is through
suffocation, not by bleeding to death (this was explained to me by a guy who worked in the ministry and he also had an anthopology background, so he knew what he was talking about). When a person is nailed up, in time, they are fatigued and cannot lift their body enough in order to retract the diaphragm to allow for the ability to bring air into the lungs.
