Best Memory
What is your best memory from being Greek? I don't mean all the great parties, but one moment when it all came together and you knew it was one of the best decisions you made?
Mine was getting my big sister. That is one day that I wont' forget.

Good idea!
Mine was riding in the annual bike race. The bike was built for two so a fraternity and sorority were paired for the race. I did the race for four years and made some cherished friendships with the fraternity members who we raced with and deepened the bond with my sisters who rode also. It was a great time! Sue

Initiation. Hands down. That was the most gorgeous, moving ceremony that I've ever seen.

I have to say the day I realized that when I have a poblem, it is not just my problem it is our problem. We all stick together and help each other through all we do.

Probably our colonization. It was the best year of my life. I loved becoming a sister in a national sisterhood and learning and growing with my sisters. It put us all on equal ground and made it so much more special!

It was definitely rush. For 5 days straight I was in the house practically all day long. It was an extremely exhausting and emotional time for all of us but when it was all over and our efforts brought in one of the best pledge classes that we had ever had, it really made us feel a lot closer. We had worked so hard and it felt good to be able to share our excitement with each other.

Rush was also my favorite time - I get so excited for girls who are coming through, and for our sisterhood, rush was always very emotional. It was a great chance to sit back and see ourselves for the great organization that we are - knowing that we have a great retention rate, I looked forward to initiating the majority of girls who accepted bids.

I dunno...I was kind of confused during Initiation.
After initiation, however, was my best memory. After a long time of being "pledges", we were at the same level with our older sisters. It was great!

I would have to say that in addition to Initiation, the day I realized that not only was I a sister to others, but they were sisters to me as well. It is infinitely satisfying to know that someone has your back, just as you have theirs.

I agree that Initiation was a great memory, but my all time favorite moment was bid day. I'll never forget how I felt when I opened that envelope and saw that I got into the sorority I had dreamed of being in from the first day of rush. But it's still so hard to choose a favorite memory because every day is better than the one before it

There are so many great memories of being a DZ. But if I have to pick one...I would say that rush was the most memorable experience for me. Although it is nerve wrecking and exhausting sometimes- this is the time when you really realize what your sisterhood means to you and how truly precious sisters are to each other. It was great bringing in new members into our sisterhood.

I can't pick one! Every time I think I am getting close to narrowing it down to one, something else pops into my head.
Some of my favorites:
-Chartering our chapter at SFASU
-All the sisters at our convention joining hands in a circle to sing our official song (this happens most every year so I have lots of great memories!)
-Meeting someone professionally and finding out she's a sister
-My own initiation
It's all about making moments and memories, isn't it?

For me, it was the rush party that I was in charge of that I blew the budget on, but it went down in history as the best one yet at LSU for all time!
I remember that everyone had a good time, even the one's who didn't end up joining had good memories, and we made friends throughout the greek community. That was important, not just having friends in our own group, but all over campus.
