I believe that when it comes to diseases and health issues African Americans have a higher number of deaths than other races because often times due to economic factors and lack of education we often wait when we find warning signs and symptoms before we go to the doctor. I sincerely believe that because I stayed in my health center on campus so much that the doctors thought that I was a hypochondriac! Better safe than sorry though I say. Several different types of cancer run throughout my family and I have several other health problems that I have to stay abreast of. However, after saying all of that the one thing that I absolutely detest is GOING TO THE DENTIST! I have this strange nightmare that when I go they are going to tell me that all of my teeth are going to fall out! Don't laugh
I sincerely believe that this is what they are going to tell me. This all started when they told me that I would have to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. Well they messed up and told me what the procedure would be like, some of my friends and Sorors decided that they wanted to tell me that exactly what happened to them and make sure not to get dry sockets...ugh
and ever since then I just can't stand the dentist office!
