Well these are some things I've done with 5th graders in doing drug and alcohol awareness...but I think they'd be fun to do infront of the chapter too...
There are several activitites.
The first is easy. Ask for a volunteer (make sure they know they are going to be spun around). Before you spin them around play a short game of toss with a soft textured ball. Once the chapter sees that you can toss the ball back and forth easily, spin the volunteer around in a circle 10 times. Then very quickly toss the ball to her. She will probably not catch it. Have her pick it up and then throw it to you...her throw will be off. Then talk about how much alcohol impares your physical abilities, etc.
The next activity needs three volunteers. Give a pair of thinck ski gloves to one volunteer, give sunglasses covered with vasileen (sp??) to another volunteer, and the third volunteer will have nothing. Then give each volunteer a long thin screw and a nut that will fit on the screw. On the word "go" have each volunteer try to get their nut on the screw. Obviously the volunteer with nothing will complete the task fastest. THe one with the glasses will struggle because everything will be done with feeling (she will not be able to see much out of the glasses at all), and the one with the gloves will have an especially hard time. Again, talk about alcohol and drugs and how it effects your body.
THose activities will not take long, but really are good (and fun) ways to get the girls thinking...

Then there are friends who sail together, through quiet waters and stormy weather. Helping each other through joy and through strife. And those are the kind who give meaning to life.
