Doctors hate me, too. I look up all this stuff on the internet and then I scare the crap out of myself, so that when I finally get to the doctor's office I'm shaking like a leaf and hysterical. Which, in my defense, I have had some reason to worry...I had surgery almost a month ago for "precancerous" stuff (the c-word is really scary), and then I had the whole detaching retina thing. Every time I see a flash of light, I'm like, "Oh, my God! My eye is falling apart! I need more surgery---waaaaaaah!" So I can cut myself a little slack, even if my parents think I'm nuts.
But then there's all the other stuff I freak out about, like..."Is my cell phone going to give me cancer?" "I have a headache...oh, no, it's got to be a tumor!" "I'm coughing...oh, horror, it's TB!" It's great being a hypochondriac...a great way to drive yourself crazy, I mean.
