First-I just want to tell you I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm sure she was very special to you--and I'm glad she has someone like you who cares about her legacy. I concur with what's been said here--while I don't like "outsiders" to have our badge, I think in cases like this, it is entirely appropriate for you to have it for safe keeping, especially in the event you are able to pass it on to one of her future heirs.
I have one quick request though-if she was not involved with any alumnae activities (and therefore, someone in the DZ family will be able to do this), please notify someone in at our National Headquarters that she has passed on so that she can be honored in The Lamp and at our Memorial Service at National Convention this summer.
