I would hope that the Thurmond family would do the right thing and agree to DNA testing. The time for these secrets is over - it's time for healing between races.
It's just a shame that this didn't happen while Strom Thurmond was still alive - but maybe that's why Essie Washington feels safe about coming forward now.
