Wow! That's neat? I'm surprised they were allowed to use the name of real sororties in the book. Do you know where I can get a copy of that book? Thanks for the info!

The book is "Legally Blonde" by Amanda Brown.
You can definitely get it through amazon.com, but since you're in Germany, maybe try amazon.de which is the German amazon. You might have some luck there in getting the book.

A few minutes later
Yes, you can get it in English via Amazon.de
I speak a bit of German, so just make sure that the copy you order is "Sprache Englisch" which means English Language...
(Englische Bucher means Books in English)

I think it's funny...on the DZ board there was a thread trying to say that the movie was based on DZ's and not DG's...it's kinds funny to read.

She is actually one of the movie screenwriters & an Alpha Gam!

She says that her time in the Alpha Gam house actually inspired some of the movie.
This is one of my favorite movies. Thanks for the links to the book excerpts, that is so cool. I never read the book. Does anyone know if the author of the book, Amanda Brown, is a DG?

They are pretty different.
Specific differences I can think of off the top of my head:
Real sororities
The accused killer isn't a sister of Elle's
Warner and his fiancee aren't catalysts for Elle actually pulling herself together and succeeding in law school
Elle's boss isn't trying to get inside her pants
Luke Wilson's character basically doesn't exist
I like the movie better, personally. It just seemed tighter and better written.
