I pledged SAI and Theta at the same time, and it was fine. I had about a two hour per week time commitment to each group plus extra activities on top of that. it may sound like a lot, but it was quite managable. It helped that pledging was at the beginning of spring semester before homework got too intense. We have delayed recruitment for NPC groups on campus, and SAI happens to follow the same pledging schedule, although we give out SAI bids before winter break. Of course, it probably depends on the school you're at / the chapters on your campus.
