ZetaAce is correct. Every other day I find messages that are posted to 5-10 different forums & sometimes find messages that are posted to several dozen forums. For the messages that are greek related, I usually delete all but one - for the events I leave the one post in the forum of the organization that is hosting the event (unless I do not know which org is hosting it).
My main reason for doing so is that we have limited disk space on the webserver. If every event is posted in many different forums, we will end up having a number of forums that are flooded with identical event postings with each taking up lots of disk space. If you're familiar with usenet newsgroups, in those groups crossposting like this is also considered to be spam.
In any case, there seems to be a lot of people who are interested in posting event information. How about we setup a new forum in the general forums area specifically for events? This way, the events would only need to be posted in the forum for the organization hosting the event & in the "Events" forum. I'll probably set this new forum up sometime tomorrow.
