I have to agree with SmartBlondeGPhB... if they have been around and active then yes they should be accorded more respect than someone who has just been "around"..... however if they abuse that respect, then they don't deserve that honour.
I generally give the benifit of the doubt to seniors/elders in the organization, because I don't know how involved they were a decade ago or fifty years ago..... until they prove otherwise they get my respect.
