I am so glad that you posted this.
About a year or two ago, I cut all ties to people in my life that I felt were not bringing anything positive to share in our friendship. It was really hard to do because some of these people I had known since grade school, and I already had a limited number of people in my life anyway. I decided to do what was best for me at the time, and since doing so I've been so much better off. It's like a load has been lifted and I feel more free to excell and there is nothing holding me back.
