Rachel--

There is one more thing I wish you would consider when examining why you think your sisters don't care about the difficulties you're having.

In addition to communicating from your POV, there is also the way the sisters process it themselves internally. They may not know what to say to you, and may even be afraid of saying the *wrong* thing, so they say nothing.

This is a problem I've struggled with for a long time. (To use myself as an example.) I work in high-tech medicine where life and death issues are daily fare. You would think I would have any possible conversation about illness, etc, down pat. Wrong. I get so tongue-tied when someone close to me or a friend gets seriously ill or dies, that I am utterly worthless. It's not that I don't care, but I just care SO much that I can't put together a sentence at such a horrible time.

I don't know the ladies you're describing, so I can't say this is definitely the case, but it may be a possibility.

Is there someone at school health services who can act as a counselor to explain coping issues related to illness? This can break some ice as well.

I wish you all the best in whatever path you choose.

Adrienne
