I guess I was considered popular -- depending on who you asked.
I was a cheerleader and hung out with the active kids (jocks, yearbook staff etc) who coincidentally were the top scholars of the class.
I got along well with the "hoods" as they called themselves--and would feel very comfortable going to a party with them.
Interesting--I got straight As but also missed 27 days of school my first semester of Senior year. So I was a closet truant, but my good girl image covered for me.
No one ever asked me for a hall pass and one teacher would give me her car to go get donuts!
