I have done this---- last year I sent a friend, in my office, a one line email that happened to be a snide comment regarding my boss. I didn't mention any names, as my friend would know exactly what it meant. Turns out while I was thinking about my boss-- I accidentally sent her the email. After a few minutes of not getting a reply from my friend I checked my sent box-- oops-it went to the boss. I ran in there and told her to disregard the email, she already read it and asked what it meant. I said I sent it to the wrong person--it was just and inside joke. She bought it and laughed.
