				 What should I wear?!?!?

Hey everyone! As most of you know, I'm totally new to the Greek Thing, but I'm excited to say that rush week is almost over! It's kinda sad, but it's kinda good too cuz then I get to see if I get invited back or not! Well anyway, on Thursday night, the sororities at Ship are having their Formal Recruitment Event but I don't know what to wear and I don't wanna be out of place or anything. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to wear--or even better...what NOT to wear? lol. I'm so nervous and excited. Bid Night is Friday..and I CAN'T WAIT!! LoL..spending the week at these events has totally opened my eyes to the ideals of Sisterhood and Friendship. I can definately say that this week has been a learning experience for me. Well, if anyone has any good suggestions on dress for a Formal Recruitment Event, just let me know. I'll be thankful for any help at all. Thanks alot girls!

Did you receive any information from Panhellenic? Apparel recs are usually in the Recruitment brochure.

There are no recruitment brochures or info since this is informal rush. (Actually there probably wouldn't be one for formal either, but that's another story.)
I'm going to ask some of the younger PA ladies to chime in as they probably know more than me. 2 definite things are don't wear anything like you would wear to the prom, and don't wear anything too short or too skimpy on top.

I am not a lady, but girls at UT typically wear a black cocktail dress (conservative), which I don't think you can go wrong with. It is better to be overdressed than underdressed. If you are overdressed, you could always say that you have a semi-forrmal affair afterwards that you previously comitted to.

Also, if you are in a dorm, ask your RA or some of the upperclass women on your floor if they know. Even if they are not Greek they should have a pretty good idea of what is appropriate dress.

hmmm, well I didn't get any brochures or anything from anyone. At Ship, the Fall semester is informal recruitment...so I don't know if that's why we didn't get any information or what. But I have no idea about anything. All that I got was a card just saying We invite you to our Formal Recruitment Event on Thursday. I live off campus so I don't have a room mate or anything. One of the sisters is in my Stats class on Thursday evening at 5, so I guess I could ask her then...but I haven't gotten any other information and I don't think any of the other girls have either. So...I'm lost....but thanks for the help.

33, now now, don't get all PA state system negative Bloomsburg actually does a little recruitment book for formal. Pink, I'd wear a nice skirt and blouse or a dress that is nice, but not cocktail or formaml. Does that make sense? That's what we do for preference!

I don't know, but I just want to know why the thread Rush at Western Illinois University was locked.
Sorry about the little hijack, but if I would to start a thread on that, I knew that would get locked too. |

			Pink,
Since I'm a PA state school active right now, I'll tell you the girls are wearing. The ones that I've seen usually go with a nice skirt paired with a nice shirt or a dress that you could wear to church. BUT, DEFINITELY NOT PROM DRESSES!
