Hurricane Isabel
Well, it's coming. We do not have school tomorrow. Pref was supposed to be tomorrow, but we had it tonight instead. Bid day is Friday but might be delayed until next week. Pref went awesome by the way...
but stupid hurricane, who invited you to Pref?

I'm in Carolyn's chapter, and I have to agree that Pref was amazing! To be honest, I was not very excited about changing Pref from tomorrow to tonight, but after I saw our ceremony, my attitude completely changed. I am so proud to be a DELTA GAMMA! And I am sooooo glad that class got cancelled! Just hope everyone will be ok!

A friend of mine just gave birth to a baby boy a day or 2 ago, (and thus, she is likely exhausted). Anyhow, she has a daughter, Isabella, who is nearly 2. Well, little Isabella has QUITE the temper on her...I am tempted to call my friend and ask her how "Hurricane Isabella" is, but I think in her tired state, she would NOT be amused.....

I haven't heard anything about TNX yet...I've been so wrapped up in our recruitment. I know TNX made a strong show at freshman orientation encouraging girls to come out.
Eta Kappa will not evacuate...the house is ready though. Supplies have been bought and they have a plan...if electricity goes out then all memebers have to sign in and out if they leave the house...they also have to have a 24 hour fire watch since the fire alarms will not be working and candles will be lit all over the house - thank Goodness that we just finished recruitment and we now have tons of candles!! So far we have just had hard rain and strong winds..it's supposed to get worse as the afternoon comes...
I'm staying at my boyfriends place until it all blows over....this sounds so horrible for a college student to say, but I REALLY HOPE we have school tomorrow so we can have bid day!!!

<---Experiencing some Isabel love right now. My roommate (also a beautiful DG) and I picked up a six pack of provisions this afternoon and we're going to watch some TV, play some cards, and cross our fingers that we don't have to work tomorrow!

BID DAY! The hurricane went away!! Enough people have power that NCSU is holding classes under the adverse weather policy (meaning, if you can safely come to class you are supposed to)...
THAT MEANS WE CAN HAVE BID DAY!!! I'm sooooo excited!
It'll be a long night, but I'll be back LATE this evening to tell you how things went!

And I'm back online. Luckily our apartment didn't lose power, but our cable (including our internet) went down on Thursday night and i've been DYING. I'm online at work right now. There are still so many people in the area without power. The streets are pretty much cleaned up for the most part. Most businesses are open again. So that's about it from the Nation's Capital.
