This is a trial and error drink you practice till you get the thickness, and sweetness you like. It needs to blend well or the sugar will make it gritty. I like mine smooth and sweet. This is a "girlie" drink and I have never had a complaint.

A tip from my old drinkin' days.......
Instead of a whole can of pink lemondade, cut it in half with a box of jello (lemon or strawberry lemonade). It will get rid of the "gritty" problem.
