You have to go with what you feel is best. Remember the organization is bigger than the chapter. After you graduate college, there is still work to be done, (remember it's a lifetime commitment). That's why there are alumnae chapters.
I understand you have family loyalties, but what organization that your family belongs to may not be the one for you. YOU are the one who will go through the process. No one in my immediate family is greek, so I could've remained Me Phi Me.(follow me?)
You are on the right track because you can't go wrong with prayer.
