well guys, i'm alive and well in South Dakota. Since i'm sure all of y'all are aching to know how my trip has been going, and since i don't believe in LiveJournal, i thought i'd give y'all a little update.
HOUSTON Wed, Thurs, and Frid i was in stayin in Tomball with one of my bros for my job interview. I had the first interview on Thurs. and they asked me to come back Friday morning for a 2nd. Afterwards, they sent me to take a drug test. Now, on the way to the lab i stopped and chugged a thing of Ozarka, thinking, good thing i haven't peed this morning, i'll be in and out. I get there and the lady sits me down and starts goin through my hair. I'm like, lady, i don't know how you pee, but if you're lookin for urine you're goin about it the wrong way. Then she told me it was a hair test and they were gonna take some hair. So, i'm like ok, i'm thinkin a couple hairs, when she was done i looked at what she cut and was like WTF? are you repainting the Sistene Chapel? Looks like it's a couple weeks of hat wearing for Kitso.
DALLAS Friday after my scalping, i mean, drug test, i drove to Irving to spend the night with another brother who just moved there. We decided to go looking for a bar to watch the Cowboys-Texans game, and to our surprise, Irving is a dry city. I think i saw tears in his eyes. We ended up stopping at some place called, ironically enough, Houstons for a beer, a bourbon and coke, and a spinach dip. Total price of the 3 items....18 bucks. It was a damn $9.00 Spinach dip!!! For 9 bucks, if i'm eating Spinach dip i'd better start sprouting some Popeye-like biceps and have a bluto to beat around. After that debacle, we drove to Dallas to buy beer and went back to his place to order a pizza. Of course, he just moved in and doesn't have a phone book. To whomever doorstep that was i stole that phone book from, i'm sorry, i'm sure you can get another one.
OKLAHOMA Now, i bag on the Okies a lot, but i want y'all to know, i've got a new appreciation for them now. South Eastern Oklahoma, specifically around Ardmore was really pretty, but seriously, was it necessary to cut the interstate down to just 2 lanes? is that to make us slow down and observe the only attractive part of the state? Oh, and BTW, the rest stop by Ardmore, gets 4 **** out of 5 for cleanliness. Another thing about Oklahoma, i've never seen Redder dirt. I know Colorado supposedly got it's name for the red dirt(if i remember my CO history right) but damn, it's Red as Satan in OK.
NEBRASKA First thing, any state that has a 75 MPH speed limit on the Interstate is alright in my book. Although, from I 80 in Ogallala to the South Dakota line, i passed more Deer and Rabbits than cars.
Is that it? oh wait, i'm forgetting Kansas, how could someone do that?
KANSAS Kansas.....flatter than an Olsen Twin. That's all i've got to say. Oh yeah, and to the guy with the 3 tiered spoiler on his Saturn with the flaming joker's head on the side, who got pulled over by the Kansas Highway Patrol? HA HA [/nelson]
That's it so far. On Wednesday i'm off to Eastern SD and Omaha to visit some friends, then on Sunday i'm headin back to SA, with a stop in KC to meet the great Tom Earp and hopefully a stop in Dallas to meet up with AlphaSig.
I"ll keep ya posted.
