As much as it bums me out that our badges are selling on ebay for absurd prices, I really don't place any blame on the people selling them. For whatever reason, they got their hands on a badge that has lately been going for $400. I certainly wouldn't give away $400 to a perfect stranger...
Honestly, the badges never should have gotten into their hands in the first place. It's a rather unrealistic expectation to expect a stranger to give away something that has been selling for $400. It is, however, more than reasonable to expect that sisters should not let their badge out of fraternity. Think about it -- do you have a will, or any written document, stating where your badge should go if you suddenly passed away?
The non-Phi Mus who obtain our badges aren't responsible for returning them to the national office. We are responsible for making sure they never leave.
